On the restriction of distribution of information on the internet network in Russia

Abstract

The article discusses the grounds and procedure for limiting the dissemination of information on the Internet. The fundamental normative legal acts, which set out the grounds for limiting the dissemination of information, are listed, bodies and organizations with competence in
this area and related to the decision-making on the restriction and their technical implementation are designated. The article describes the organizational and technical tool used for the purpose of limiting the spread of information on the Internet Unified register of domain names,
indexes of pages of sites on the Internet and network addresses. The role and functions of the
authorized body of Roskomnadzor in the organization of restrictions are stated. Some difficulties related to technical problems of blocking prohibited information on the Internet are discussed. The conclusion is made about the necessity and timeliness of measures taken to limit
the dissemination of information prohibited by law.
